Today, I was...

Fate Herself, and The Hermit

Today, I was Fate Herself. Again. I was also the Hermit in his enclave.

There is an enclave beyond the City, run by The Hermit. The Hermit knows that the End Times are near and he's elected himself as guide for the impending apocalypse, for all those Chosen by his will. Take down the Enclave, stop the Cult, dethrone the Hermit. Become the new leader.

There are two very different outcomes.

After the Hermit is struck down inside his own sanctum in the Enclave - forced to overdose with a mouthful of metaphysical drugs - Friend and Zas (to whom Fade has now subjected themselves) come to magical blows - with Friend emerging triumphant, siphoning the assets, money, deed and the now even larger crowd once a cult. No longer the rule of isolation, but one of communion - The Hermit is deposed, The Friend ascends in his stead.

The Enclave falls, as people find each other and help each other as the walls come crumbling down. In the depths of the complex, deep beneath the earth, the power of the Hermit flows through Ricochet (Heir of Cups) - now imbued with the glyphs of the living Deed to the Hermit's Enclave - who reaches out to his companion, his partner in this Cabal, his fellow Royal, his motivation through the entire heist: Blake (Monarch of Wands). As they touch hands, a burst of light. The Hermit, and his control over isolation is no more - The Union ascends to the Major Arcana, freeing the strength found in connections, and working towards a shared goal.
